Providing food, medicine, homecare, and the joy of Jewish life to the most vulnerable Jews — and responding to the needs of Israelis and others — has been our sacred mission since 1914. But no matter what we do, it's generous supporters like you who power these vital efforts.

Thank you for never turning your back on your global Jewish family.

Dear Andy,

Did you know that JDC delivered more than 23 million hours of homecare to isolated Jewish seniors in the former Soviet Union this past year?

That kind of life-saving work has been our passion and our purpose since 1914, when we were founded to aid starving Jews in Ottoman-era Jerusalem. For over a century, we’ve helped advance Jewish life worldwide — a sacred mission grounded in arevut, the Talmudic notion that all Jews are responsible for each other.

Now we want to hear what you value most about JDC: Take this short survey to share your thoughts with us.

Generous supporters like you enable us to:

  • Provide life-saving assistance — including food, medicine, clothing, and other essentials — to vulnerable Jews from Montevideo to Mumbai. For tens of thousands of Jewish seniors across the former Soviet Union, many of whom struggle to survive on pensions as low as $2 per day, we are often their only source of relief and hope.

  • Power vibrant programming for Jews of all ages, including camps, leadership seminars, Jewish education, volunteer initiatives, professional training, grants, and more. Whether it's a Shabbat retreat in Bucharest or a master class in strategic planning in Buenos Aires, we inspire the next generation of Jews to lead their communities into the future.

  • Execute a robust and continuous emergency response to get the hardest-hit Israelis back on their feet after the horrific Oct. 7 Hamas attacks and ongoing war. This builds on our century-plus commitment to lifting up all Israelis: Before the war began, JDC-developed programs touched the lives of more than 1 million of the country's people each week.

  • Carry out decisive, uninterrupted humanitarian efforts to aid Ukraine's Jews during the conflict. As they face blackouts, rocket-fire, air-raid alarms, and constant uncertainty, Jews in Ukraine — and those who have fled to neighboring countries — know they can turn to us for everything they need to survive.

  • Lead the Jewish response to natural disasters and other global crises. We help communities of all backgrounds and faiths find strength and resilience to recover and rebuild, including our recent intervention in Myanmar, where a devastating magnitude-7.7 earthquake struck in March 2025.

Around the world, we have bent the arc of modern Jewish history for more than 110 years. This is your story, too — so please let us know which aspect of our work you're most passionate about.

We hope you are inspired to carry this mission forward — a proud legacy of saving Jewish lives and building Jewish life.

Gratefully,

The JDC Team
