Today is an incredibly important day at Heifer International: Not only is it our 82nd birthday, but it is also National Cow Appreciation Day!
In the wake of World War II, we began providing heifers to farmers in war-torn countries and other places where people have struggled to end the cycle of hunger and poverty in their lives.
With the help of generous donors like you, we gave families a chance to get back on their feet — and in the 82 years since, our love for cows hasn’t faded, nor has our desire to help families set themselves on a brighter path.
