Hettas
Ceonna is a Fresno-based sprinter that holds five program records at Fresno State, has been a semifinalist at both the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials and the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, and is still very much in the business of getting faster. When she's not competing, she's coaching athletes at Athletic Performance Fresno, because apparently one high-performance career wasn't enough.

This week, Ceonna is on the track at the 2026 USATF National Championships. Friday at 5:19pm EDT, and if things go the way we expect, Saturday at 3:01pm EDT too.

We talked about the grind of post-collegiate track, what it actually takes to stay in the game, and what she's building toward.

How does running make you feel?

Limitless.

Name a woman who inspires you.

Allyson Felix. Aside from being one of the most decorated athletes in Olympic history she has demonstrated that an athlete can pursue their craft at the highest level while also building a life beyond competition through business, family, and mentorship.

You’re at peak difficulty of a workout, race, or run—what one thought keeps you going?

The pain is temporary but the results last.

Which Hettas are you currently training in?

Alma Speed. It provides the balance of comfort, support, and responsiveness I need for both training and racing. Additionally, as a 400-meter runner, I need a shoe that feels lightweight and allows me to move efficiently without sacrificing stability.

Where do you want to be in two years? Five? And what does "making it" look like to you?

In two years I'm hoping to be at my absolute prime both mentally and physically given that's when the next Olympics are. In five, I want to have built a career that's bigger than track—through partnerships, business ventures, and creating opportunities that last long after I'm done racing. "Making it" to me is about waking up every day knowing I gave everything I had to my dream, building a sustainable career doing what I love, and leaving the sport better than I found it.

You were a semifinalist at the Olympic Trials in 2024 and again at USATFs in 2025. What does it feel like to be that close to the standard and what keeps you coming back?

It feels humbling at times but I know it's 100% attainable. My competitive nature, love and drive for the sport keeps me coming back for more. I'm not ready to hang up my spikes and I know I have so much more to give, so I'm going to keep going till the wheels fall off!
