Dynamo Family,
As we are 2 days away from kicking off the 2026 season, I want to share my perspective on the progress made this offseason and the opportunity ahead.
This is the most important year for soccer in the United States and Houston is at the heart of it. Nearly five years ago, my family and I committed to this club because we believe that Houston deserved a team that reflects the pride, diversity, and ambition of this city. In the five years since, that belief has only grown stronger. We continue to make significant investments in the team, in the stadium and in the community with one clear goal in mind: building a club that Houston and our fans can be proud of.
On the soccer side, we invested heavily in our roster and staff this offseason - adding proven leaders and competitors from some of the world’s most storied clubs and leagues. Our players are bought into what we are building and driven to add trophies to our club’s collection.
At the same time, we continue to invest in your experience at Shell Energy Stadium. Each of the past five offseasons under our ownership, we’ve taken steps to improve the atmosphere, comfort, and energy of matchday to make every visit more memorable. Opening night will be the first chance to see those improvements come to life and I look forward to experiencing it alongside you.
With World Cup tickets at a premium, we recognize that we have a unique opportunity to provide access to live soccer experiences for all Houstonians. Through partnerships with youth clubs, schools, service members, and first responders, we are committed to being fan-first and family-friendly before, during, and long after the World Cup comes to Houston. Soccer belongs to everyone and this club should reflect that.
Community impact has always been central to who we are. For more than twenty years, our players and staff have been deeply involved in service across Houston. I’m proud that Dynamo and Dash Charities will continue that work in collaboration with the World Cup Host Committee and our shared commitment to grow the game. The influence of this club extends far beyond the results on the pitch and we are eager to use our platform to positively impact our community.
When the Major League Soccer regular season pauses in late May, we’ll also turn our attention to activating the stadium with additional programming around the Fan Festival footprint, ensuring our home remains a hub for connection, celebration, and community throughout the summer.
I hope to see you at Shell Energy Stadium this Saturday, February 21 as we kickoff this thrilling year of soccer.
Hold it down,
Ted Segal |
