Someone recently pointed out to me that I’d officially been at Best Friends for 30 years. That means 30 years of saving lives, giving homeless pets second chances, and finding inspiration in incredible people like you who make this work possible.

When I came to Best Friends all those decades ago and was hired as employee No. 17, I didn’t know exactly where I would wind up on this journey. What I did know, however, was that I belonged here. I had found my people and my purpose — and I still feel the same today.

I recently wrote a blog reflecting on my journey and what “home” really means after 30 years. I wanted to share it with you because where we are now — the country closer to no-kill than ever before — is only possible because of you.
