Meet Nyx, a dedicated mom to daughters Lydia and Eisley, known as "Mama Bear." "I'm proud to be called their mom and I just couldn't be prouder of them," she said.

Nyx is on disability and cannot work, so she gets a little extra help from the Beyond Blessed Food Pantry—a Feeding America network partner—to fill the gap left by a lack of school meals over the summer.

"The summer meals program provides a great peace of mind...I know my kids are going to eat healthy food, get a healthy meal, and it's going to be a safe meal for them. It's a safe spot for them to go," Nyx said.
