This year, KOOKAÏ and the Katalyst Foundation are embarking on their most ambitious project yet, a new purpose-built kindergarten in Vuya Village, Fiji, with space for up to 60 children to learn, play, and begin their education with confidence.

For the mothers of Vuya, this will be more than a classroom. It will be the peace of knowing their children are safe, supported, and given the start they deserve.

Set in the coastal community of Bua Province, the Vuya kindergarten is Katalyst's fourth build and the first to feature two classrooms, replacing the run-down facilities children currently learn in. Designed to withstand severe cyclones, it will serve the community for generations.

Through the Katalyst Kindergarten Build Program, children gain essential literacy, numeracy, and life skills before they reach primary school. The kindergarten build is one part of Katalyst's wider work across Fiji — supporting health programs, tertiary scholarships, schools and medical facilities in the communities that need it most.

Since 2012, KOOKAÏ customers have helped make this possible through in-store donations, purchasing from Katalyst merchandise and ongoing community support.
