In 1989, Angelo founded Due Palme to be a true cooperative focused on quality and sustainability. He started with just 15 growers—and today, the co-op counts 1,000+ members, has won hundreds of awards and has earned a reputation for making exceptional wines—with Selvarossa dei Confratelli Riserva as the crown jewel. It’s crafted from primarily old-vine Negroamaro, with a portion of the grapes air dried for greater depth and concentration. Aged in barrel, then in bottle, it has layers of toasty oak and spice that balance heady notes of ripe cherry and plum. It’s a wine you can’t help but linger over. Originally, Due Palme made Selvarossa dei Confratelli Riserva for the growers, their family and friends—but eventually, our Italy expert convinced them to set aside a few cases each year for our Vineyard Partners.
