Dear Friend of Girls Who Code,
Summer is here! And if, like me, you’ve got kids, you know just how busy summers can be. Whether it's camps, sports, or summer jobs, the time fills up fast—which is great! But it can also lead to a phenomenon that many parents are familiar with—the “summer slide”.
The summer slide is what happens when kids lose some of the academic skills they developed during the school year over summer break. You can help Girls Who Code keep thousands of students sharp all summer—because having access to fun, engaging learning opportunities during the summer can make a big difference.
At a time when educational institutions are facing challenges, your funding of education and programs like ours has never been more important. Education is the gateway to economic opportunity, and as our world rapidly changes with advancements in technology, having access to more tools and resources that allow young people to not only adapt, but take advantage of those changes, is critical.
