Why always organic?

Choosing organic products was at the centre of our lives long before we started MOMO.

When we created our own kombucha company, we knew that to make the best kombucha in the world, we had to choose the highest quality ingredients. MOMO has always been 100% organic - and always will be.

We wear our Soil Association organic certification with pride. It's an affirmation of our commiment to environmental & human health.

A friend to your gut

The negative impact of pesticides and environmental pollutants on the gut microbiome has become an increasingly studied scientific field.

Professor Tim Spector, founder of Zoe & gut-health specialist, shared his insights with us when he visited our London brewery. From his book, Spoon-Fed:

‘Much of the role of the microbiome is to stabilise our immune system and stop it overreacting, so it’s not a far stretch to see how, by being exposed over long periods of time, these herbicides and pesticides could alter our immune systems’.

MOMO tries to minimise the environmental impact of all our ingredients.

We're conscious that tea & sugar farming communities are among the most vulnerable populations from climate change.

Our ingredients are sourced from suppliers upholding the highest standards: farmers must uphold environmental stewardship, protect topsoil, avoid water contamination and encourage biodiversity.

While there's plenty more to be done, by promoting organic farming, we are reducing pesticide contamination in water systems and nitrogen fertiliser production, which lead to increased greenhouse gas emissions.

We strongly advocate choosing organic wherever possible to promote a food system that reduces the impact of toxins and pesticides on our planet and in our bodies.

That's why we're always organic.
