| | Angels Nike RBI League Opening Day | | On August 2nd, the Angels Baseball Foundation and Anaheim Family YMCA hosted "Opening Day" for the Angels Nike RBI Leagues in Anaheim. The fully-funded, 8-week leagues aim to teach children ages 7-10 the basics of baseball as well as teamwork, leadership, and perseverance skills in a supportive and fun environment. The kickoff event welcomed young ballplayers with clinic activities including hitting, fielding, and base running and introduced participants to their coaches and teammates. Each participant received a full Angels uniform, tickets to an upcoming Angels home game, and a new Angels baseball glove through the "Masons4Mitts" initiative. |  | |  | | | Logan O'Hoppe Brings Joy to MemorialCare Miller Children's Hospital | | Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe visited patients and families at MemorialCare Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach to help bring smiles to the kids being treated there. In addition to sharing stories and laughs, the Angels also brought hats, Rally Monkeys, and jerseys to support the patients and families during their time in the hospital. Logan O'Hoppe even asked a few young patients to help decorate his catchers gear to celebrate MLB's Players' Weekend! |  | |  | | | Angels PLAY Campaign Clinic | | In teamwork with the Angels athletic training staff, PBATS (Professional Baseball Athletic Training Society), Taylor Hooten Foundation, and Song for Charlie, the Angels invited local middle and high school aged kids to the annual PLAY Campaign Clinic held at Angel Stadium on Monday, August 4th. The clinic provided local youth with an opportunity to participate in baseball and softball activities on the field at Angel Stadium. They worked with Angels outfielders Bryce Teodosio and Gustavo Campero on drills such as hitting off a tee, pitching in the bullpen, and activities to increase strength and mobility. |  | |  | | | Rally Readers, presented by Chick-fil-A SoCal | | The Angels kicked off the month of August with a visit to the Anaheim Public Library's Euclid Branch to share story time with 60 young readers as part of Rally Readers, presented by Chick-fil-A SoCal! Angels pitcher Reid Detmers read children's books to the local Anaheim youth and answered their questions before signing autographs. Angels Strike Force, Angels Radio AM830's Trent Rush, and the Chick-fil-A Cow were in attendance to bring gifts to each child, including an Angels hat, bookmark, and Chick-fil-A kids' meal card. |  | |  | | | Angels Camps - Stadium Series #2, presented by Chick-fil-A SoCal | | The Angels Camps - Stadium Series, presented by Chick-fil-A SoCal, took place at Angel Stadium on August 9th. The youth baseball and softball event brought over 150 kids to the ballpark t0o improve their skills and try their hand at playing like a big leaguer! In addition to drills in the outfield and bullpens, participants were treated to lunch by Chick-fil-A SoCal. Proceeds raised from this event benefit the Angels Nike RBI League and provide opportunities for kids in our community. For more information on upcoming youth baseball and softball events, visit angels.com/play. |  | |  | | | Angels Scholars - Where are They Now? | | With support from the Angels College Scholarship, Daniel Zhu graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2024 with a double major in Statistics and Machine Learning and Business Administration. Outside of academics, Daniel dedicated himself to hands-on engineering projects, including building electric and driverless race cars. One of Daniel's proudest college accomplishments was being part of Carnegie Mellon's Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) team as they earned the title of the top Formula SAE team in the United States! Professionally, Daniel co-authored a research paper on software-defined networking which has inspired him to pursue a master's degree this fall. He is currently working as an Applied Algorithms & Network Engineer at Northrop Grumman and has a bright future ahead of him. Congratulations on all your achievements, Daniel! | | |
