Animal Advocacy Day returns on Tuesday, March 3, bringing animal lovers, lawmakers, and advocates together at the California State Capitol. We’ll spotlight urgent issues like access to care and the veterinary shortage—and show how your voice can make a real difference. We’ll also offer a complimentary shuttle from the SF SPCA campus.

Routine Surgery, Big Impact
Spay and neuter surgeries help prevent unplanned litters, reduce overpopulation, and support healthier communities for animals.
At the SF SPCA, every cat and dog is spayed or neutered before adoption—it’s a key part of breaking the cycle of shelter overcrowding. While it’s recommended to spay/neuter pets when they’re young, adult animals can also be safely spayed or neutered. It’s never too late to make a difference.

Elvis Found His Smile—and His Forever Home
Elvis arrived from Kings County Animal Services with severe dental disease that caused pain and discomfort. Our veterinary team performed a comprehensive dental procedure, including full-mouth X-rays, extractions, and cleaning. Eight teeth extractions later, Elvis was feeling like a new dog. Best of all? Elvis was adopted by one of our very own staff members!
