Like most complex concepts, there is no one single definition of “transdisciplinary research”. But, Helen Buckley Woods writes, all definitions share three common elements: partnerships, values and impact. However, each research community and funding body must decide how to interpret these elements and consequently what makes their project transdisciplinary.
