Hello Lady Maccas!
As summer begins to slow, we spent time with Helena Cuesta, Madrid-based jewelry designer, creative, and digital muse with a talent for turning the everyday into something quietly iconic. Whether styling sculptural looks or capturing the softness of natural light, Helena brings a poetic, body-aware energy to everything she wears. We spoke with her about personal style as a form of storytelling, and how Maccapani pieces fit into her rhythm. From the punk edge of the holographic Moto T to the fluidity of a sheer skirt, from the structure of a Daisy corset set to the playful sharpness of the orange Macca Bag, Helena’s wardrobe choices reflect both restraint and rebellion.

What do you aim to achieve or express when you dress for the world?
First of all, I like to dress for myself. I love clothes, and I love feeling beautiful. I’ve always enjoyed standing out, dressing differently, not following trends, and letting my personality come through.
Is there a particular item of clothing you’re emotionally attached to? Can you share the story behind it?
So many. I get really attached to my things—it’s hard for me to let them go.
One piece I love is a vintage Gucci bag with a heart on the front, in pink suede. I found it on Etsy and I think it’s from the ’90s. It’s just so cute. I’m also very fond of a denim Fendi Baguette with embroidered flowers that I got years ago for a ridiculously good price. But my latest treasure is a top I found at a vintage store in New York—the same one Carrie Bradshaw wears in Season 2 of Sex and the City. I had to get it the moment I saw it.
What kind of Lady Macca do you feel like right now?
A blessed one. I feel very lucky to have the life I have—a job that allows me to travel, time to do what I love, and the chance to enjoy my family and the people I care about.
I’m a woman who’s still very connected to her inner child, and I think that’s essential to feeling young. It helps me live with more joy and passion, and keeps my excitement alive—to discover, to search, and to find.
When I wear Macca, I feel fresh. I feel young. It’s fun and chic.

The Macca Bag in orange is such a sharp punctuation mark. What’s your relationship to color when you dress?
I love the Macca Bag. It feels like a retro travel case from the ’60s and gives off such a vibe when I wear it. I usually dress based on how I feel when I wake up. It all depends on my mood. But I do love mixing colors, especially purple with orange or blue with orange.

What’s a day in your life in Madrid like? How do your looks shift from morning to evening?
In the morning, I go for comfy pieces like the Baby T or Moto T, especially if I’m working from home or running errands around my neighbourhood. I love buying flowers—I always keep fresh ones at home. In the afternoon, I dress up depending on my plans. If I have an event, I’ll put more thought into the look, like pairing one of Maccapani’s Daisy corsets with a more dramatic skirt. But honestly, a great pair of jeans and a good top always works, especially when elevated with the right accessories.

Which Maccapani piece is your favorite?I’m obsessed with the silver and black Nice but Naughty dress. The pattern, the side slit... it’s so sexy and chic. Perfect for a night out or for when you want to feel like the it girl.
