Compost as much food waste as possible. Approximately one third of the food produced worldwide ends up as waste, taking up a whopping 25% of our landfills. Composting cuts greenhouse emissions, enhances soil quality, and sequesters carbon in soil – which means less in the atmosphere!

Read packaging carefully & dispose properly. We love seeing companies seek out sustainable packaging solutions, and you might be surprised which components can or can’t be recycled/composted. Always read carefully and take an extra moment to put everything in its place. Small actions matter bestie!!

Shop chocolate brands that care. Look for brands that source their cocoa ethically, have sustainable business practices, are transparent, and invest in farmers. Oh, and are delicious, obvs. Not sure if your favorite brand sources ethically? Ask them - even one question signals to companies that consumers care.

Grow a mini garden. While most of us can't grow cacao trees in our backyard, we can grow pollinator-friendly plants that support biodiversity. Bees, butterflies, and even flies play key roles in healthy ecosystems—including the ones cocoa needs to thrive. A windowsill wildflower box? That’s cocoa activism, baby.

Use your screen time for good. Your feed is your power. Follow cocoa cooperatives, farmer-led orgs, and sustainable chocolate brands. Share a reel about how cocoa is fermented or post a farmer spotlight. Awareness spreads one story at a time—and you’ve got influence.
