Isatu was finding it increasingly painful to eat, drink or even speak. For over a month, she had been struggling with oral ulcers and a skin infection. The itching was driving her crazy and keeping her awake at night.

After a month of this suffering, one of Isatu’s friends told her about a health clinic in rural Sierra Leone that might be able to help her. The nurse diagnosed Isatu with a case of worms, as well as an oral infection.

Thanks to a recent shipment from MAP International, Isatu was able to receive antibiotics to treat both infections, as well as a pain-relieving gel for her mouth free of charge. A week later, Isatu returned for a follow up visit. The itching had disappeared, and her mouth was healing quickly.
