The University of Maryland ranks among the top institutions in the nation in the 2027 Best Graduate Schools list released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report, with dozens of top-25 placements in overall and specialty categories.
A record number of UMD Fellows Program students and alums are interning with the Maryland General Assembly during the 90-day session that ends April 13. The yearlong program aims to equip Terps with the skills and experience needed for careers in public service.
The finalists will pitch solutions to pressing social problems at the 14th annual event on April 23, after spending the year advocating, fundraising and volunteering. They'll compete for a share of $40,000 in front of a panel of expert judges as well as an audience that gets to vote.
