UMD’s Maryland Day guests chose from a menu of 422 free events that ignited (fire protection engineering), bubbled (chemistry) and flat-out sprinted (Terps football) in every corner of campus.
A student-led nonprofit working to normalize conversations about mental health and suicide within the Black community, and a student organization developing free technology solutions for nonprofits each took home the $10,000 top prize at UMD’s 14th annual Do Good Challenge on Thursday.
Michelle Wang ’27 has been awarded a Truman Scholarship, the nation’s most selective award for underclassmen with exceptional leadership potential, a commitment to a career in government or in the nonprofit sector, and demonstrated academic excellence.
