As the director of the student union, the beating heart of UMD, Marsha Guenzler-Stevens oversees more than 600 employes and student employees at the Stamp and Memorial Chapel, yet her door is open to all. She’s mentored countless student leaders and reshaped campus—literally!—with the creation of the Garden of Reflection and Remembrance and the revamped Student Involvement Suite. Now, as she prepares to retire on Aug. 1, she and former students and colleagues reflect on her time at Maryland and the legacy she’ll leave behind.
The Division of Student Affairs’ Stamp Study Zone is back to help Terps blow off some steam during finals. Events featuring meditation, movies, movement and more aim to both bust stress and provide quiet study spaces and materials.
