Hi,

What do you do when you're descending the Tourmalet at 75 km/h? If you're Tadej, you're reaching for an electrolyte gel that was custom-made for you.

On Thursday you could clearly see him reach for a silver, basically unbranded gel packet. My phone blew up with people asking what it was. Answer: it's the custom sodium gel Enervit made just for him.

It's the same gel I hijacked from the Enervit factory for you. These aren't commercially available — they were made for Tadej — but I have them.

And it's not the only gel he's using. He's mixing three:

The original Tadej Mango Gel. We brought this to you last year, and it may be one of the best-flavored gels available, period.

The Enervit Liquid Energy Gel. It comes in a pouch with a twist top. The reason? You can get it down in under a second. When you're pushing 198 bpm up a climb, you need your fuel fast without missing a breath.

The new electrolyte gel. As he finished the descent of the Tourmalet, you could see him pull it from his pocket. Grabbing a bottle at that speed is hard (and dangerous) — the gel gave him a hit of carbs and electrolytes for the final climb.

If you watched closely, Thursday was a master class in fueling. Every 30 minutes, like he had a timer going, another gel. His fueling is as dialed as his training — it's become second nature to him.

All Enervit is 20% off today for Stage 8.

My recommendation: get this 6-pack I put together of all three of Tadej's gels — including the Secret Sodium Gel — for under $20.

Ciao,

Matt
