Hey — Matt here! | If you’re just starting your newsletter and trying to get your first 1,000 subscribers, here’s some advice: | This will also apply if you’re trying to reach your first 5k-10k subscribers… | The first 1k is the hardest. | Why? Because at this stage, it’s all about finding content-market fit. | Content-market fit simply means content (a newsletter) that an audience loves, will keep consuming, and will share. | How do you find content-market fit? | By creating content! | Publish content daily. Try different topics, angles, formats, types, and ideas. | Then see what people love. | When you get feedback, ask what people want to see more of. | Does this mean you should publish a daily newsletter? | Probably not. | Instead, post daily on the social media platform of your choice. | I recommend LinkedIn or Instagram. But other platforms work too. | How often should you send your newsletter? | Start with a weekly newsletter that’s published the same day every week.
