The Trump administration is waging war on our elections — but we’re fighting back. Since returning to the White House last year, the president and his allies have worked toward a singular goal: undermining the 2026 midterm elections. FBI raids of election offices, demands to pass the anti-voter SAVE Act, and late-night social media posts from the president are meant to cast doubt on our election systems and democracy itself.

But the truth is that we will have safe and secure elections this November. We just have to work for them.

Here’s the good news. We’ve thwarted each of the attempts to undermine the midterms. The pushback — from the Brennan Center and citizens like you — has been fierce and effective.

The Trump administration tried to take over elections through executive orders. We challenged them in court, and we won. He pressured Congress to pass similar anti-voter provisions through the SAVE Act, which would have been the most restrictive voting bill ever passed. Supporters like you forcefully mobilized against the bill. And the Justice Department has demanded sensitive voter data and sued states that resisted handing it over. We’ve gone to court to defend states from those lawsuits, and nine of the cases have already been dismissed.
