A man walks along the coastline in Kingston, Jamaica, as Hurricane Melissa approaches, Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025
Dear friend,
Yesterday, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a Category 5 storm. It was not only the strongest storm so far this year but also one of the most devastating storms to ever impact the Caribbean.
The initial damage reports are heartbreaking. Thousands of people have had their lives changed forever. They’ve lost homes, livelihoods and, sadly, even loved ones. That’s why we need your help!
Cross Catholic Outreach is working with our ministry partners on the ground in Jamaica, including the Diocese of Mandeville, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic to assess the damage and deliver critically needed food, medical aid and recovery supplies to the people who need it most.
As we pray for survivors and first responders, please consider a generous gift to our Most Urgent Needs fund. This fund allows us to deliver aid to disaster survivors and meet other urgent needs in times of crisis.
God bless you for sharing his love with our brothers and sisters today.
