The new collection launches next week

I’ve been nothing short of excited with the results from the last round of experiments that came out of the kiln last week. It’s been an energizing last few months researching and testing various materials from places that hold meaning to me and incorporating them into my clay body.

Clay inherently is such a rich and tactile material and it has such potential to tell a deeper story. I’m really enjoying this journey.

I’m splitting up the online drop this time round so that work may flow and develop as these weeks pass. NOTE: I will make sure all orders purchased at Batch 1 will be sent in time for Mother’s Day.

I’ve been most inspired by this tea bowl I photographed while in Bizen, Japan last year. You may remember it from my last email on the regional pottery style of Bizen.

I love how the local clay includes all sorts of interesting matter and that you can visibly see in beautiful bands created by making the vessel on the wheel.

IN STUDIO LAUNCH
Friday 24 April, 6pm - 8pm

I will be launching the new collection at my studio in conjunction with the epic Beaumont Studios fundraiser / Art Show, ART INCOGNITO.

This will be my first open studios of the year! I will have lots of ceramics available: wall vases, self watering planters, samples and a few seconds. I’d love to show you around my studio, share my processes and talk about what I’ve been up to this year.

Art Incognito kicks off at 7pm till midnight. Your ticket includes an original art work! All money goes towards the Beaumont in keeping this amazing space running.

This will also be a full Beaumont Open Studios event with live music, food trucks, bar, raffles prizes and lots more. The previous Art Incognito held last year was so much fun, the entire place was buzzing. It’s truly a magical and unique spot in Vancouver.
