I’m a sucker for a good rubber match — especially when it’s a clash of styles like we’re about to witness. It’s Minnesota United against San Diego FC in the Western Conference Semi-Finals on Monday, setting up one last clash between the league’s two most different teams. 

The ones who share possession against the ones who want all of the ball. Midwestern manners against California showtime. Loons against … glowing orbs. 

Each of the regular-season matchups between these sides produced plenty of sparks, with the visiting team coming out on top on both occasions. That trend bodes well for the Black and Blue, and after putting together the league’s third-best away record in 2025, Coach Ramsay and the boys will be raring to go on Monday.
