Summer’s finally here, and your Loons are coming off a streak of eight games in a single month, seven of which yielded results. Most recently, the Black and Blue held conference-leading Vancouver to a scoreless draw and then swept into June with a first-ever victory over the Sounders
at Lumen Field. Now the boys take some well-deserved time off with no games until the June 14 matchup against expansion side San Diego, where the second- and third-ranked teams in the West will battle to break the 30-point tie.
Well, “time off” might not be totally true. Not one, not two, but 10 of your Loons have been called up for international duty
for June’s FIFA International Window. The action has already kicked off for MNUFC2’s Kayne Rizvanovich and Troy Putt, and six regular first-team starters plus two players on loan take to the pitch this weekend. June will be a big month for the internationals, and for the remaining Loons gearing up to handle regular-season play without many of their usual starters.
In other news, MNUFC signed Carlos Harvey to a contract extension through 2028 and Darius Randell to a homegrown contract. Voting is now open for the MLS All-Star Game with 15 Loons eligible for your selection. And it’s Pride Month! Find MNUFC at the Pride Festival and stay tuned for more info on our June 14 Pride Game.
