We Like It Out There

The Mamas and the Papas once put into words the very thoughts crossing the minds of every Loons fan ahead of the next two matches. Yes, friends, we’re California Dreamin’ for the next few days, with a pair of games in the Golden State on the horizon for your Loons. First, it’s a league showdown with San Diego FC at Snapdragon Stadium this Saturday, followed by a Round of 32 matchup against Sacramento Republic FC in my favorite cup competition in the whole world: ye olde U.S. Open Cup.  

While California’s on the mind, can we talk about the bear? I was looking at Sacramento Republic’s attack kit (so cool, by the way), and it reminded me of how sick their state flag is. A grizzly bear? Following a red star? I’ve never said this before, but that’s metal , man. It begs the question: What’s the best state flag? Talk that over with your crew while you watch our away games. 

Saturday’s match against San Diego doesn’t kick off until 9:30 p.m. CT, but don’t worry: Tuesday’s USOC game starts at the early hour of 9:00 p.m. We’ve got a few late nights on the way, folks, so take those afternoon naps seriously, dream some California dreams, and send some positive vibes to the Black and Blue as they look to keep their positive momentum going.
