One After Another

Kyle Hayward | April 24, 2026

What’s better than one soccer game every week? Two soccer games every week. For the third time in a row, your Loons are set for a double gameweek, and this is the biggest one yet. Strap in, folks; this is going to be fun.

After getting three wins out of three against Californian opposition, the Loons have got to be excited to see two more coming up. First, it’s a weekend matchup against LAFC, who’ve dropped points in each of their last three matches after their blistering start to the season. The attacking talents of Denis Bouanga and Son Heung-Min will keep the likes of Morris Duggan, Nicolás Romero, and Jefferson Diaz busy at Allianz Field, testing their resolve and making for some must-watch soccer.

After that, another quick turnaround will see the Loons head back out to the California coast for a U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 showdown against a red-hot San Jose team. With two players over five goals on the season (Ousseni Bouda, Preston Judd) and a league-leading 22 goals scored in nine games, Head Coach Bruce Arena’s got his side firing on all cylinders, making it one tall task after another for Minnesota United.

And it couldn’t come at a better time. Six games unbeaten, three cleans sheets in their last five league games, and four consecutive league wins. No one in MLS wants to line up across from your Loons right now. Bring it on
