If you haven’t already heard, let me be the first to tell you: Minnesota United have officially announced Christina Hennington as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer! Departing CEO Shari Ballard will remain with the club through the end of the season to oversee a smooth transition for everyone in Loons-nation before retiring. These are exciting times, folks — bittersweet, but exciting. Thank you, Shari, for all you’ve brought to the club, and welcome Christina!
On the soccer side of things, a little match called the World Cup final is set for this Sunday, bringing our sport’s biggest showcase to an exhilarating close. What a tournament it’s been! What ever will we do to fill the soccer void about to take hold of our lives?
We’ll watch Major League Soccer, of course.
Everyone’s favorite soccer league returns on July 16, with your Loons stepping back on the field down in Kansas City on Wednesday, July 22. From there, it’s a busy stretch of regular season matches, Leagues Cup, and more scintillating soccer. The transfer window is open, the players are gearing up for their return, and the summer of soccer doesn’t have to stop this weekend. We’re almost back, friends. |
