Here's 5 reasons why you shouldn't donate to this fundraiser:
🚫🦦You hate sea otters and everything they stand for
Keystone species? Who needs ‘em. Sea otters are fighting their way back from the brink of extinction, and are responsible for keeping coastlines and kelp forests healthy, but we get it. They’re kind of meh. Why bother donating to a campaign that supports their recovery just to get a t-shirt with a stupid old otter on it as a thanks?
🚫🌎You’re deeply opposed to eco-conscious fashion
Our official vintage otter t-shirt is 100 percent cotton, printed with eco-friendly, water-based inks in Maine by Liberty Graphics, and is shipped plastic-free. If you’re a fan of polyester, microplastics, and unnecessary plastic packaging, this isn’t the t-shirt or fundraiser for you.
🚫🔎You only like microfauna and refuse to acknowledge animals larger than a copepod
Big, charismatic megafauna like sea otters have had the spotlight for far too long! Where’s the fundraiser with a zooplankton t-shirt as the thank-you gift?

Ugh, human interaction. Our vintage sea otter t-shirt is unfortunately a major compliment magnet. If you’re not prepared to open the floodgates to a seemingly endless stream of positive comments like “Oh I love sea otters too!” or “No way! The Monterey Bay Aquarium is also MY favorite aquarium!” or “Where did you find that? I have to get one!” then donating to recieve our t-shirt as a thank-you gift isn’t for you.
🚫👴You think vintage fashion should stay in the past
This t-shirt was originally designed in the 90s by illustrator and beloved children's book author Chris Van Dusen. If you really can’t imagine yourself rocking a piece of history designed over 20 years ago, then you may just have to find your otter t-shirt elsewhere (though this re-release is newly printed, so maybe you can make an exception?).
