Naked & Famous Denim x Blue Owl

Our collaboration with Blue Owl goes back to the early days of Naked & Famous Denim, built on a shared appreciation for Japanese selvedge denim.
This project builds on our slubby take on the classic 13.75oz Left Hand Twill Selvedge, now reimagined in black. Both fabrics are woven in Japan from 13.75oz left hand twill selvedge denim with black warp yarns, but each uses a different weft. Our version pairs the black warp with a white weft for higher contrast, while Blue Owl’s version uses a black weft for a darker, more understated look.

Woven in Japan from 13.75oz left hand twill selvedge denim, the fabric is based on our classic Left Hand Twill Selvedge, now reworked with slubby yarns for a more irregular surface. Our exclusive Black Warp / White Weft Selvedge pairs black rope-dyed warp yarns with a white weft, allowing the slubby texture to stand out from the very first wear. As the black warp gradually fades, the fabric develops
even greater depth, revealing the full character of the slubby yarns.

Also launched today, the Blue Owl’s Black Warp / Black Weft Selvedge is available exclusively through Blue Owl.
While our edition uses a black warp and white weft to showcase the slubby texture from day one, Blue Owl's exclusive version pairs the same black warp with a black weft, creating a darker, more understated appearance. The slubby texture is still there, but the matching black weft keeps it more subtle until the denim begins to fade.
The Black Warp / Black Weft Selvedge will release in Weird Guy, True Guy, and Strong Guy.
