As somebody who nerds out over National Geographic’s unparalleled archive, I loved seeing readers captivated by a 2001 cover story on Asia’s last lions. It’s especially cool because we just checked back in on those same lions this year! Also popular this week: recent research into why eating less can make weight loss harder, the gooey blue blobs washing up on U.S. beaches, and the one-of-a-kind robot that took researchers deep into the Great Pyramid.
