Friend of Wildlife,

It’s been just over two months since the last meeting of the Endangered Species Committee (commonly referred to as the “God Squad,” in the media), where they outrageously acted to exempt oil and gas operations from Endangered Species Act requirements.

This committee is scheduled to meet again in just a few weeks, according to a schedule recently set by the Trump Administration which orders four meetings per year.

The last time the committee met before this new schedule was in 1992. The unprecedented pace of these meetings is designed to weaken and bypass the effectiveness of one of our most vital conservation laws. We can’t sit idly by.

We’re inviting our most dedicated friends of wildlife to join our ESA Rapid Response Team and be the very first ones to get the latest updates on our efforts to defend the Endangered Species Act and prevent a very dangerous legal precedent from being set that could put all endangered species at risk.

On April 15, we joined with several of our affiliates and other groups in suing the Trump Administration to reverse the impacts of the God Squad’s March 31 decision. We’re working with our partners and affiliates to ensure the law is followed, and to oppose arbitrary and unprecedented decisions that put endangered wildlife at further risk.

If you want the latest updates on the work of the Endangered Species Committee and our lawsuits and other advocacy work opposing their actions, please add your name to join our ESA Rapid Response Team today.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be reaching out more about our plans and what our wildlife community can do to help. If you want to be the very first to know all the latest news, please join this special team right now.

Dana Jensen McNamara

Sincerely,

Dana Jensen McNamara

P.S. Taking on the Trump administration directly through our lawsuit and other activities opposing the Endangered Species Committee’s unlawful actions is challenging, expensive work. We will need the help and the financial support of our grassroots community to win, and monthly gifts are the best way to make a lasting impact. Please make a monthly gift today—from now until our lawsuit ends—in support of our work to protect endangered species.
