Throughout 2025, needessentials ambassadors Torren Martyn, Laurie Towner, Johanna Brebner, and Hahnee Chelkowski have been on the road, helping to further develop products while taking adventures of their own.

We’re excited to bring some of these exploration film projects to life and share them with you in the New Year. Here’s a brief snapshot of some moments from the last 12 months.

When we started needessentials, we made a decision not to create advertising materials—the stuff that ends up in landfill. Instead, we chose to invest in the creation of surf films and exploration. This allows us, together with other artists and musicians, to make surf films. Film trips also help to develop and refine the products at needessentials, ensuring they are as well-built, sustainable, and ethical as possible. We encourage other companies to follow suit and stop making unwanted advertising materials that only end up discarded in landfill.
