We live in California, a reproductive freedom state—a beacon of hope for the rest of the country. Did you know that one in three Planned Parenthood patients nationwide receives care in a California health center?
And yet, that hope is under threat. Anti-abortion extremists in Washington, D.C., are attempting to outlaw abortion altogether—and other areas of reproductive health care are next on their agenda.
In addition, the Governor's recent budget proposal included deep cuts to reproductive health, which could eliminate one-third of PPNorCal’s annual funding.
These cuts threaten access to birth control, cancer screenings, STI treatment, abortion, and gender-affirming care, especially for low-income, rural, and marginalized communities who rely on Medi-Cal.
Even in turbulent times like these, PPNorCal draws strength from our community, so that our doors remain open for patients.
