I’m incredibly proud to step into the role of President & CEO of Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal) at this defining moment in history. It’s an honor to lead an organization with such a deep legacy of care, courage, and impact—especially now, as reproductive rights are being systematically rolled back and politically motivated efforts to defund providers like us threaten access to basic health care.
Despite these challenges, our commitment is resolute. We remain on the ground—seeing patients, showing up in our communities, and delivering on our mission every day. We do this work bolstered by the leadership of this organization and inspired by the remarkable support of partners like you.
One of the things that excites me most is working alongside you—our champions, supporters, and community of unwavering believers in justice and equity. Your trust and commitment to reproductive freedom are the foundation of this work. I’m also encouraged by the continued leadership of our state legislature and Governor Newsom, whose recent budget includes critical investments to safeguard reproductive health care across California.
That collective dedication is also what makes this role so personal for me. I first walked through the doors of PPNorCal as a nurse trainee at our Fairfield Health Center many years ago. That training prepared me to serve as a forensic nurse, supporting survivors of sexual assault by performing evidentiary exams. These experiences didn’t just spark my commitment to care; they shaped how I lead. Over the years, whether at Kaiser Permanente or teaching and mentoring the next generation of health care providers, I’ve centered my work on health equity, dignity, and community—values that continue to guide me every day.
Above all, I hold onto hope—not the kind that waits, but the kind that acts. The kind rooted in connection, courage, and the voices of patients who remind us why this work matters so deeply. And I take joy in knowing that our collective efforts, large and small, are advancing our cause every day. I am honored to be beside you as we continue building the future we all deserve.
