For decades, sharks have fueled our curiosity, fear and sense of mystery. Somewhere along the way, sharks were largely cast as the villains of the ocean, ruthless predators lurking beneath the waves.

Today, sharks face threats far more dangerous than any Hollywood script can scare up. Warming oceans are changing where sharks can live and altering migratory routes. Coastal nursery grounds and coral reef ecosystems that shark species depend on are increasingly under pressure from climate change.

The truth is, sharks aren’t the villains. They’re animals in need of your support—now more than ever.
