Women's & Men's Tennis Advance to NCAA Super Regionals

Both Buckeye tennis programs went 2-0 over the weekend to open NCAA Tournament play and advance to the Super Regional round. The No. 4 seed women's team secured a dominant 4-0 sweep over Buffalo in the first round before battling Notre Dame where the Buckeyes dropped the doubles point but responded taking all six opening sets in singles play. Shelly Bereznyak, No. 112 Audrey Spencer, No. 22 Teah Chavez and No. 9 Luciana Perry recorded Ohio State's singles points to send the Buckeyes to the Super Regional round where they will take on No. 13 seed LSU on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Auer Tennis Complex.  View Women's Tournament Bracket

The No. 5 seed men’s team followed a similar path, defeating Buffalo in the first round by a 4-0 margin before rallying behind four singles points by Preston Stearns, No. 97 Bryce Nakashima, No. 61 Alexander Bernard and No. 11 Aidan Kim to defeat the Auburn Tigers. Up next, the men's team will host No. 12 seed Mississippi State on Saturday at noon for a spot in the quarterfinals in Waco, Texas.  View Men's Tournament Bracket

Softball Closes Out Regular Season vs. Illinois

The No. 22 softball team closed out its regular season over the weekend with a pair of wins at Illinois to secure its sixth straight Big Ten series victory. Lorin Boutte picked up the win for the Buckeyes on Friday with a complete game shutout (2-0) while Kennedy Kay followed it up with a complete game three-hitter, allowing just one run (4-1). Ohio State's offense came via a trio of home runs by Hailey Lang in game two and Kaitlyn Farley and Emma Tolley in Saturday's series finale.

Women's Golf Tied for Third after Two Rounds of NCAA Regional

The No. 14 women's golf team is tied for third place after two rounds of the NCAA Columbus Regional. Through rainy conditions, the Buckeyes shot a team score of 303 bringing the team's 36-hole score to a 582 (+6) and just two strokes behind first place Arkansas. Freshman Nellie Ong leads the way for the Scarlet and Gray as she currently sits in fourth place with a two-round score of 143 (-1).

Track & Field Wraps Up Jesse Owens Classic with Three Event Wins

The track and field program picked up three event titles and broke seven personal bests at the annual Jesse Owens Classic. Braden Wakey (men's javelin) and Lacey Stringer (women's hammer throw) started the weekend off with new PRs while Saturday produced a trio of first place finishes by Stringer in the women’s shot put (15.45m), Alex Kenish in the men’s 800m (1:52.66) and Tanner Watson in the men’s discus (54.53m).

Shane Wetzel & Stanislaw Chacinksi Earn AVCA All-America Honors 

Men’s volleyball standouts Shane Wetzel and Stanislaw Chacinski were named to the 2025 AVCA Honorable Mention All-America team. In his third season, Wetzel led the Buckeyes with 399 kills, 53 aces and 194 digs, guiding them to the MIVA Tournament title match while Chacinski was named MIVA Newcomer of the Year after posting 341 kills, 136 digs and 51 blocks. The duo were also 2025 All-MIVA First Team selections.

Kary Hollenbaugh Punches Ticket to U.S. Open

Women's golf junior Kary Hollenbaugh punched her ticket to play in the U.S. Women's Open later this month. Hollenbaugh earned her spot in the U.S. Open with a first place finish at the U.S. Women's Open Qualifier at New Albany Country Club where she recorded a 68 (-4) in the second round to finish atop the leaderboard with a total score of 141 (-3). The 2025 U.S. Women's Open is scheduled for May 29-June 1 at Erin Hills in Erin, Wis.

Men's Lacrosse Captures First B1G Tournament Title

The men's lacrosse team added to its historic season this past weekend defeating the Maryland Terrapins by a score of 14-10 in the Big Ten Conference Tournament championship game to capture the program's first conference tournament crown. Ohio State raced to an early 5-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, thanks to a balanced scoring attack and another solid performance from goalie Caleb Fyock, who earned tournament MVP honors. Garrett Haas led the offensive attack with three goals and an assist, while Fyock matched his career high with 19 saves.

Head coach Nick Myers and the Buckeyes now turn their attention to the NCAA Tournament where the team was selected as the No. 4 seed and will host Notre Dame in the first round on Sunday at noon at the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
