Dear Buckeye Nation,
One year ago, I stepped into this role with great pride and an even greater sense of responsibility. We worked hard to hit the ground running by strengthening our student-athlete experience, prioritizing fan and guest engagement, providing visible leadership, setting a clear course for long-term success and working collaboratively across all 36 of our programs. I have also spent time learning about and respecting our traditions, while pushing forward with the urgency that defines a championship culture. The people make Ohio State special, and after a full year, I want to say thank you!
This past year has brought rapid change across the landscape of college athletics and we will continue broader conversations about the future of the intercollegiate athletics model. Through it all, we’ve stayed focused on what matters most: doing right by our student-athletes and representing Ohio State with excellence in all facets of Athletics and our Business Advancement units.
On June 12, I addressed many of these items in a gathering with our local media and I indicated that no matter what: Ohio State will be a leader in shaping what a new, modernized approach to college athletics looks like. And, while change is around us, we can count on two things that will never change: our student-athletes will continue to excel in the classroom and we will compete at the very highest level in each of our 36 sports.

I’m proud to share that our student-athletes continue to set the standard not just in competition, but in the classroom. This year, we celebrated record academic performance across most of our teams, proving once again that success at Ohio State is built on competitive balance - drive, discipline and integrity. Looking ahead to 2025–26, the excitement is real. We’re building momentum across every program, making smart investments in facilities, expanding support for student-athlete development, and working to ensure that Buckeye fans have a first-class experience every time they show up in scarlet and gray. There’s more work to do - we’re hungry and ready and also ask for your continued help. There are many ways to continue supporting your Buckeyes by donating to the Buckeye Club, buying season tickets, purchasing merchandise and directly working with our student-athletes by engaging with the Buckeye Sports Group. |
