No. 1 Football Cruises Past Grambling State, Hosts Ohio Saturday Night |
For the second week in a row, the Buckeyes find themselves in the top spot of the AP Poll with their 70-0 victory over the Grambling State Tigers. Ohio State had 651 yards in total offense with 377 coming through the air as Julian Sayin set a school record with 16 straight completions and finished the day 18-of-19 for 306 yards and four touchdowns, all in the first half. On defense, the Silver Bullets limited the Tigers to just 166 yards of total offense while tallying nine tackles-for-loss, two fumble recoveries and an interception.
This weekend, the Buckeyes will look to extend their dominance in night games under head coach Ryan Day, holding a record of 22-4 including recent wins over Notre Dame, Tennessee and Texas. Saturday's game is the Buckeyes' Helmet Stripe game where fans are asked to rep the "Buckeye State" by wearing scarlet, gray, white or black apparel based on their seat location in The 'Shoe.
