No. 1 Football Tops No. 17 Illinois 34-16, Travels to Wisconsin this Weekend |
The No. 1 Buckeyes extended their ownership of the coveted Illibuck trophy following their 34-16 road victory over No. 17 Illinois in Champaign, Ill. The Buckeyes' defensive unit continued its dominance against the run, holding Illinois to just 47 rushing yards on 27 attempts. The Silver Bullets went on to rack up six tackles-for-loss and four sacks while also forcing two fumbles and an interception which Julian Sayin and the Ohio State offense took advantage with touchdowns after each miscue. Sayin completed 19-of-27 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns through the air to Jeremiah Smith and Bo Jackson.
This weekend, the Buckeyes are back on the road and headed to Camp Randall Stadium for a matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers (2-4). Kickoff against the Badgers is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS. This weekend's matchup marks the 87th meeting between the Buckeyes and Badgers and the 43rd time in Madison, where Ohio State holds a 28-12-2 advantage. |
