No. 1 Football Closes Out Regular Season Home Schedule Saturday

Head coach Ryan Day and the No. 1 Buckeyes improved to 10-0 on the season after a 48-10 win over UCLA last Saturday in The 'Shoe. Ohio State dominated the ground game, rushing for 222 yards which is the highest mark against a Big Ten opponent this season. Bo Jackson led the way for the Ohio State offense compiling a career-high 112 yards and a score on 15 carries while fellow running back James Peoples added an additional two trips to the end zone. Linebacker Sonny Styles led the Buckeye defense with seven tackles while his brother Lorenzo Styles Jr. took a kickoff 100 yards to the house, the first kickoff return touchdown since Jordan Hall in 2010.

This Saturday, the Scarlet and Gray will close out their regular season home schedule when the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (5-5) visit Columbus for a noon kickoff. The program will celebrate its 20 seniors including Sonny Styles, Davison Igbinosun, Caden Curry and more with a special pregame ceremony followed by national champion head coach Jim Tressel ringing the Victory Bell.

Men's Basketball Remains Unbeaten, Defeating Notre Dame 64-63

Head coach Jake Diebler and the men's basketball team improved to 4-0 on the season, defeating Notre Dame 64-63 Sunday in a thriller at the Schottenstein Center. Senior guard Bruce Thornton led the way for the Buckeyes with 24 points along with four rebounds, three assists and a steal. Thornton's 24 points helped move him up to No. 13 on Ohio State's all-time scoring list with 1,588 career points, passing Terence Dials and Allan Hornyak. Christoph Tilly added 18 points and four rebounds on the day including the game-winning layup with 13 seconds remaining to put away the Fighting Irish.

The Buckeyes will close out their six-game homestand tomorrow evening when Western Michigan heads to the Schottenstein Center for Dollar Dog Night followed by a Tuesday, Nov. 25 matchup against Mount St. Mary's for the Kids Takeover Game. Tomorrow's tipoff against the Broncos is scheduled for 8 p.m. while Tuesday's game will begin at 6:30 p.m.
