Head coach Lori Walker-Hock and the women's soccer team posted a resilient performance on Sunday, battling through another two-overtime match to secure their spot in the Elite Eight, the program's first since 2010. Forward Amanda Schlueter got the Buckeyes on the board in the 65' while goalkeeper Molly Pritchard's four saves helped extend the match to extra time. With a little over five minutes remaining in the second overtime, Anika Poremba delivered the game-winning goal to help the Scarlet and Gray knock off No. 23 Baylor by a final score of 2-1.
Up next, Ohio State will head to Tallahassee, Fla., where it will face No. 6 Florida State on Friday in the NCAA quarterfinals with a trip to the Women's College Cup on the line. Friday's Elite Eight match will begin at 5 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+. |
