Cotton Bowl Bound Football Selected as No. 2 Seed in College Football Playoff |
Head coach Ryan Day and the No. 2 seed Ohio State Buckeyes will receive a first round bye in this year's College Football Playoff before heading south to Arlington, Texas for a quarterfinal matchup in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on Wednesday, Dec. 31. The Scarlet and Gray will await their opponent as they will take on the winner of a first round matchup on Saturday, Dec. 20 between No. 7 seed Texas A&M (11-1) and No. 10 seed Miami (10-2). The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised by ESPN.
This will be Ohio State's fifth appearance in the Cotton Bowl Classic with the most recent trip to AT&T Stadium being last year's CFP semifinals when the Buckeyes defeated the Texas Longhorns 28-14 to advance to the national championship game.
