No. 12 Women's Basketball Knocks Off No. 9 TCU in Coretta Scott King Classic

The No. 12 women's basketball team earned another statement win on Monday afternoon, defeating No. 9 TCU 71-69 in the second annual Coretta Scott King Classic at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. The Buckeyes rallied from an early deficit and delivered down the stretch behind a sharp shooting performance by senior guard Chance Gray, who scored a team-high 22 points while going 6-of-8 from three-point range. Elsa Lemmilä added 17 points along with career highs in blocks (six) and assists (five), while Jaloni Cambridge added 18 points and eight assists of her own. Ohio State showed resilience throughout, taking its first lead in the third quarter and closing the game with timely baskets and defensive stops to secure its second top 10 victory of the season.

After improving to 17-2 overall and 7-1 in Big Ten play, the Scarlet and Gray will return to Columbus for a conference matchup against Indiana (11-8) tomorrow night at 8 p.m. at the Schottenstein Center.

Men's Hoops Picks Up Pair of Home Wins Over UCLA & Minnesota 

Following a trip to the west coast, head coach Jake Diebler and the men’s basketball team returned to the Schottenstein Center for two Big Ten battles against UCLA and Minnesota. The Buckeyes used home court advantage to pick up a pair of conference wins defeating UCLA on Saturday, 86-74, and Minnesota last night, 82-74. Behind a career-high 28 points and six three-pointers from John Mobley Jr., Ohio State led the Bruins from start to finish to open its two-game homestand. The Scarlet and Gray followed up Saturday's win with a gritty overtime battle last night against the Golden Gophers that was sealed by critical defensive plays by Colin White including a steal and fast-break layup with less than two minutes remaining.

The Buckeyes look to keep the momentum rolling into Friday's rivalry road game in Ann Arbor against No. 3 Michigan. Tipoff against the Wolverines is set for 8 p.m. with the game airing live on FOX.
