Scarlet the Schott! Men's Hockey Hosts No. 1 Michigan for Weekend Series at the Schott |
Men's hockey earned a hard fought road victory on Friday night at the Compton Family Ice Arena, knocking off Notre Dame 4-2 to open the weekend's series. Ohio State jumped out early with a pair of first period goals from Adam Eisele and Riley Thompson, but it was Jake Karabela's power play goal with under two minutes remaining that boosted the Buckeyes back in the lead before Max Montes sealed the game moments later with an empty netter. Between the pipes, freshman goalie Sam Hillebrandt turned aside 31 of Notre Dame's 33 shots, recording a .939 save percentage.
The Buckeyes return to the Schottenstein Center this weekend for a two-game rivalry series against No. 1 Michigan. Puck drop for game one against the Wolverines is slated for 6:30 p.m. while Saturday's series finale is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Tickets in the 200-level still remain for both games, so be sure to secure your seat and don't forget to WEAR SCARLET all weekend long!
