Eight Buckeyes Win Medals at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics

The Ohio State women's hockey team was represented across the podium during last week's Olympic medal ceremony at Milano Santaguilia Ice Hockey Arena as eight current and former Buckeyes received medals at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. Junior forward Joy Dunne and Ohio State alumnae Cayla Barnes ('24) and Hannah Bilka ('24) captured gold with the United States in a 2-1 overtime win over Canada, with Jenn Gardiner ('24), Sophie Jaques ('23), Emma Maltais ('23) and Natalie Spooner ('12) taking silver. Winning bronze for the Buckeyes was Switzerland’s Andrea Braendli ('22) whose 32 saves helped the Swiss defeat Sweden and a trio of Buckeyes in another 2-1 overtime battle.

USA's Dunne, Finland's Vanhanen and Sweden's Jungåker, Svensson and Raunio will hang up their country's colors for Scarlet and Gray as the No. 2 Buckeyes open postseason play this weekend in the WCHA First Round. Ohio State will host St. Thomas in a best-of-three series at the Ohio State Ice Rink.

Buckeye Basketball Enters Final Stretch of 2025-26 Seasons

Only three chances remain to get to the Schottenstein Center and cheer on your Ohio State basketball teams as they enter the final stretch of the 2025-26 regular season. Head coach Kevin McGuff and the No. 13 women's basketball team close out their home schedule tonight when No. 8 Michigan (22-5) visits the Schott for a top 15 rivalry matchup. All fans in attendance are encouraged to WEAR SCARLET for tonight's 8 p.m. tipoff against the Wolverines.

Meanwhile, head coach Jake Diebler and the men's basketball team will battle the Iowa Hawkeyes on the road tonight (9 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network) before returning to Columbus for a B1G-time battle against No. 8 Purdue (22-5) on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. All fans are encouraged to WEAR WHITE for Sunday's game against the Boilermakers. Following this weekend's game, the Buckeyes will close out the 2025-26 home slate with Senior Night on Saturday, March 7 against Indiana. Next Saturday's home finale will feature a Bruce Thornton bobblehead giveaway for the first 2,000 fans as the team celebrates the program's first four-time captain and second all-time leading scorer's final home game.
