Head coach Ty Tucker and the No. 2 men's tennis team extended its winning streak to seven over the weekend, picking up a pair of conference match wins on the west coast. The Buckeyes opened their trip on Friday with a dominant 4-0 sweep over No. 22 UCLA followed by a gritty 4-3 win on Sunday against USC. Both matches featured similar story lines with Ohio State opening the contest by picking up the doubles point before securing the win with a trio of singles victories by No. 11 Aidan Kim, No. 75 Nikita Filin and Bryce Nakashima. With the wins, the Scarlet and Gray improved their overall record on the season to 21-3 and currently sit in second place in the Big Ten standings with an 8-1 conference record.
This weekend, Ohio State returns home to the Ty Tucker Tennis Center for a pair of doubleheaders on Friday and Sunday. Friday's action gets underway at 10 a.m. against Northern Kentucky followed by a 6 p.m. match against Oregon, while Sunday's schedule features matches against Washington at noon and Toledo at 4 p.m. |
