Buckeyes Sweep B1G Tennis Titles

Women's & Men's Tennis Clinch B1G Regular Season Championships

The No. 5 women's tennis team opened what would be a B1G Sunday for Ohio State tennis, defeating the No. 22 Washington Huskies by a score of 4-2 to capture the program's first conference regular season title since 2022. On court four, No. 77-ranked Nao Nishino picked up the title-clinching singles point defeating Washington's Marie Weissheim 6-1 in the third set. Up next, Ohio State will host the Big Ten Women's Tennis Tournament this weekend at the Auer Tennis Complex with the No. 1-seed Buckeyes taking on either Illinois or Nebraska in a quarterfinal matchup on Friday at 9 a.m.

Shortly after the women hoisted their B1G trophy, the No. 2 men's tennis team completed its 4-0 sweep of Nebraska to clinch the program's 20th-consecutive Big Ten regular season title. After securing the doubles point, No. 12 Aidan Kim, No. 87 Nikita Filin and Bryce Nakashima closed out the match and secured the conference crown with dominant singles performances. This weekend, the team will travel to California for the Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament where the No. 2-seed Buckeyes will play either Michigan or Nebraska in the quarterfinals on Friday at 3 p.m. ET

Men's Lacrosse Claims B1G Regular Season Title, Hosts B1G Quarterfinals

The Big Ten men's lacrosse regular season trophy is staying in Columbus as head coach Nick Myers and the No. 9 men's lacrosse team secured its second consecutive Big Ten title after defeating Michigan in its regular season finale, 9-8. The Buckeyes battled back from an early 4-1 deficit, tying the game on three separate occasions before junior attackman Garrett Haas recorded the game-winning goal with 3.4 seconds remaining in regulation. Graduate midfielder Logan Soelberg led the Scarlet and Gray with a career-high three goals, while junior goalie Caleb Fyock recorded seven saves and held the Wolverine offense to just eight goals.

This weekend, Ohio State will open postseason action as the Buckeyes host the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals at the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium on Saturday in a rivalry rematch against Michigan (5-8). The opening faceoff against the Wolverines is set for noon with B1G+ streaming the action.
