Women's Basketball Dancing as No. 4 Seed in NCAA Tournament

The 2025 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament bracket is set and the Buckeyes are dancing! Head coach Kevin McGuff and the No. 4-seed Ohio State women's basketball team will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament at the Schottenstein Center this weekend with the Buckeyes taking on the No. 13-seed Montana State Bobcats on Friday at 5:30 p.m. followed by No. 5-seed Tennessee taking on No. 12-seed South Florida at 8 p.m. The winners of Friday's first round matchups will face off on Sunday in the second round with the tipoff time to be announced following the first round games. Women's Hockey Punches Ticket to Frozen Four

The No. 2-seed women's hockey team defeated St. Lawrence, 6-1, in the Columbus regional final to punch its ticket to the 2025 NCAA Frozen Four in Minneapolis. The Buckeyes were led by Joy Dunne's four-point performance (2G/2A) while goalie Amanda Thiele held the Saints scoreless in the final two periods, recording 13 saves on the day. With the win, Ohio State advances to the program's fifth straight Frozen Four where the Buckeyes will take on No. 3-seed Cornell Friday at 5 p.m. ET.

Men's Hockey Advances to B1G Title Game

In thrilling overtime fashion, the No. 3-seed men's hockey team defeated Penn State, 4-3, in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals. Gunnarwolfe Fontaine was the hero for Ohio State whose second goal of the game was the overtime winner to send the Buckeyes to the Big Ten title game. Goalie Logan Terness anchored Ohio State's defense recording 31 saves in over 74 minutes of play. The Buckeyes will head to East Lansing to face off against Michigan State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Softball Clinches Series Over No. 21 Nebraska

Despite dropping game one, the softball team battled back in games two and three to secure the series against No. 21 Nebraska to open conference play. The Buckeyes flexed their offensive muscle recording seven home runs and six doubles in the final two games as Ohio State outlasted Nebraska 13-12 in game two before a convincing 12-6 victory in game three. Ohio State will close out its 11-game homestand this afternoon in a midweek matchup against Youngstown State at 4 p.m.

Men's Lacrosse Wins Eighth Consecutive Game

The No. 9 men's lacrosse team closed out its non-conference slate Sunday afternoon with a 15-11 road win over the Denver Pioneers. Alex Marinier led a quartet of multi-goal scorers with five goals on eight shots while Ben Mayer, Ed Shean and Gannon Matthews had two goals apiece. The win marks Ohio State's first at Denver since 2009 and is the Buckeyes' eighth consecutive to improve to 8-1 on the year. Up next, the team will open Big Ten play at No. 5 Penn State this Sunday at 7 p.m.

Women's Lacrosse Picks Up Two Wins Out West

The No. 19 women's lacrosse team returned to Columbus following its trip out west with two dominant road wins defeating Oregon, 20-6, and San Diego State, 22-8. Six different Buckeyes recorded a hat trick on the road trip including Kampbell Stone who tallied four goals in each game. Goalie Jocelyn Torres picked up both wins for the Scarlet and Gray making 14 saves in the Buckeye cage. With the wins, head coach Amanda Moore and the Buckeyes improve to 8-0 on the season.

Fencing Sends Nine to NCAA Championships

Nine members of the Ohio State fencing program were selected for the 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships in University Park, Pa. Leading the way for Ohio State is Alina Lee who is making her fourth trip to the NCAA Championships and Gabriel Feinberg who claimed the men's epee national title in 2022. The four-day  championship event will get underway tomorrow with the men competing on Thursday and Friday followed by the women on Saturday and Sunday.

Pistol Wins Fifth Consecutive National Title 

For the fifth year in a row, your Ohio State pistol team are the national champions as head coach Emil Milez and the Buckeyes traveled to Anniston, Ala., defeating teams from Navy, Army, Utah and the Citadel to claim the team title. Ohio State finished the 2025 Pistol National Championships with a team score of 4476 while Navy and Army finished right behind the Scarlet and Gray shooting 4350 and 4325, respectively.

The Buckeyes had six of the top 10 overall individual finishers at this year's championships including Marcus Klemp who finished first overall with a final aggregate score of 1140 and Blaine Simpson in second place with a score of 1121.
